1. What separates Lakeshore Senior Living from other communities?
Lakeshore affords active 55+ adults the benefits of living at home without the worry of home maintenance, housekeeping chores, and cooking. Adults can live with independence and freedom and spend more time doing the things they actually enjoy, while having the peace of mind that someone is close by. Residents appreciate recreational, social, and cultural opportunities through daily planned activities and can connect with their peers who enjoy similar interests.
2. What are the typical services provided by Lakeshore Senior Living?
We offer restaurant style gourmet chef-prepared meals, a large variety of social activities, exercise programs, housekeeping/linen service, transportation, a unisex hair salon, nondenominational religious services in our Chapel and a multitude of other amenities.
3. How often can my family visit?
When you move into Lakeshore it becomes your home. Lakeshore is designed so that you can get the most out of daily life, and live the luxurious lifestyle you deserve. As this is your home, we welcome family and friends to visit their loved ones as often as they wish. Out-of-town family and friends visiting overnight can stay with you in the comfort of your apartment.
4. Are there common areas and rooms available for residents and their guests?
Our community offers several areas for friends and families to gather. Activities will abound to keep friends or family entertained, be it a new release in the surroundsound theater, exercising in the fitness center, a card game, or a beverage and good conversation with your friends in the Garden Cafe. You may also want to invite family and/or friends to join you for a gourmet meal.
5. What happens if I need private duty services?
Lakeshore does provide private duty services. The Home health care staff can come to your apartment to support you with any services such as: bathing, medication reminders, dressing, etc. – these are provided at an extra fee for a la carte services, depending upon the level of care the resident requires. Lakeshore also provides a licensed memory care support community on the first floor of the community if needed.
6. Do you allow pets?
Yes - you are welcome to bring your small pet (weight of pet not to exceed 30 lbs.) with you. Residents must be appropriately responsible for the care and hygiene of their pets. You must provide Lakeshore with copies of current vaccinations and on a continuous basis. Please contact the Lakeshore office team to inquire about its specific policies.
7. How many pets may I have?
We allow a maximum of two pets per apartment home (weight of pets not to exceed 30 lbs.). Please check with Lakeshore office team for more details.
8. Is there a large up-front fee or buy-in to move into Lakeshore Senior Living?
Fortunately, there is not. We only require a nominal community fee to set up your residency.
9. Do I furnish my own apartment?
Absolutely! In fact, Lakeshore Senior Living is perfect for those looking to downsize, but who have special items they just can’t part with. Remember, this is your home and you should have all the familiar comforts to which you are accustomed. Lakeshore will provide all appliances (stainless steel), window blinds, fully carpeted and tiled apartments.
10. Do you allow smoking at Lakeshore?
Lakeshore is a non-smoking environment as we are sensitive to the health needs of all of our residents and staff.
11. Are guest suites available for overnight guests?
Yes we do offer nightly suite rentals if additional space or privacy is required. There is a nominal per night fee. Please check with the office team for more information and availability.
12. Does Lakeshore have a fitness center?
Yes – we provide a state of the art fitness center. Daily supervised exercise programs are offered to include chair exercises, drums alive classes, stretch classes, etc.
13. Do residents have access to computers?
Computers with high-speed internet access are provided in our computer lab. Residents can connect with family and friends via e-mail, and surf the web for information and entertainment. We also provide free Wi-Fi in the common areas for your personal use. Residents may also bring their own computers to use.
14. What about maintenance issues?
You leave that all to us. All repairs and maintenance – both inside and out – are taken care of.
15. What utilities are included in my rent?
Utilities included in your rental payment are electricity, gas, water, sewage, and trash removal. High speed internet, phone and cable are an additional fee.
16. Am I required to have renters insurance?
You are not, but renters insurance is always recommended.
17. Do you have reserved parking?
We do have general open parking and you can reserve a private carport. Please contact your Lakeshore Marketing Department for details and availability.
